Sunday Services, 6th March

The first Sunday of Lent finds us at Eldersfield Church at 8.30am for a said service of Holy Communion taken from the Book of Common Prayer.  Then at 10.30am, Rev Julie leads our informal Café Church service at Berrow Village Hall, with refreshments, crafts and activities.  All are very welcome to join in, and this service is especially suitable for families.

Ash Wednesday Service, 7.30pm on Phone Church

Our service for Ash Wednesday will take place on Phone Church, via Zoom, back in Mike and Anthea’s Zoom room, see details below.  Rev Julie will lead our service of preparation and penitence as we get ready to observe the important season of Lent, forty days of prayer and reconciliation.  Your service sheet can be viewed or downloaded here and we look forward to welcoming you.

Pancake Day Pop Ups!

This coming Tuesday 1st March, as well as being St David’s Day, is Shrove Tuesday, the final day before Lent begins on Ash Wednesday.  Traditionally you would go to be shriven ie make your confession, and eat up all the milk, eggs, sugar, all the good things in the house before going on a Lenten fast.  Today this is remembered in the institution of Pancake Day, which Rev Julie and the team are celebrating with a couple of pop up events – they will be at Pendock Cross Church from 12 noon to 1pm on Tuesday, and then at Thistledown opposite Pendock School from 3pm to 4pm on Tuesday.  Go along and enjoy a chat and some sweet and tasty pancakes before giving up goodies for Lent.
