Compline, 5th February 2021

Its Friday already, which means time for Compline once more.  Doug will lead us tonight in this ancient and timeless said service, so calming and restoring, just what we need at the moment.  But before we pray, we chat to see how we’re all doing and to stay together and in touch as a worshipping community – just as important as our service.  All are very welcome to come and join us, and the service sheet for Compline can be viewed or downloaded here.

Morning Prayer, 3rd February 2021

Wow, we made it through January and now February is here in all her glory.  In terms of the Church year we now have a couple of weeks in Ordinary Time, before Lent begins on Ash Wednesday.  In previous times, the term Ordinary Time seemed quaint and a little boring.  How much would we all give to have a little ordinary time back in our lives at the moment???

Yet, there is much to be grateful for – the continued development and roll out of the vaccines above all.  And the way in which, no matter what, we see the natural world beginning to unfurl all her spring like wonder.

Do join us for Morning Prayer this week at 11am via Phone Church if you are able.  We come together to pray and to worship, but also to catch up and check in on each other – you are very welcome, and your service sheet can be viewed or downloaded here.

Candlemas, 31st January 2021

On the final day of January, we come together at 11am on Phone Church to celebrate the Presentation of Christ at the Temple, which draws Epiphany to an end and marks a change of direction in the life of the Church, as we stop looking backwards to Christmas, and start looking forwards to Lent and Easter.  More of both of these later, but for now, make sure you have four candles to hand for the service – tea lights are fine – which you can light and safely leave burning for most of the service.  Your service sheet can be downloaded here in landscape format or here in portrait format, and we look forward to welcoming you on Sunday.
