Coronavirus and funerals

Sadly, due to Coronavirus and the restrictions of social distancing, the way in which we are able to conduct funeral services has had to change radically. If you are currently trying to plan a funeral, we have prepared a guidance document which will hopefully answer many of your questions, and is available to download here.

Your officiating minister will be able to help you with the more detailed questions you may have, and please do accept our sincere condolences at this very difficult time.

Coronavirus and your Church Wedding

As any couple marrying with us over the next few months will have realised, the suspension of services creates real legal issues affecting your ceremony, as we can’t read your banns and you can’t attend services in order to make a qualifying connection.  Over the past couple of days we’ve been working with our legal support and the advice from the Church of England to come up with a summary of what this means for you, and some positive suggestions for ways forward.

As with all things legal, it gets quite involved so we’ve created a document containing all the details, hopefully as straightforward and easy to understand as we can make it.  But please do get in touch with your officiating minister to discuss as well as everyone’s circumstances will be different.
