Crib and Christingle, Christmas Eve

We’re really going to miss our normal Crib and Christingle service, with all of you crammed into Eldersfield Church, but for obvious reasons that’s not possible this Christmas.  However, we’re going to do the best we can online with Rev Julie leading us at 5pm on Christmas Eve on Phone Church via Zoom.  And, our lovely local schools at Pendock and Eldersfield have each recorded a festive song for us which we’re going to share as part of the service, which is brilliant.  We do hope you can join us, and bring your own Christingle along to show everyone!  Your service sheet can be viewed or downloaded here.

We will, as ever, be trying to raise money for the Children’s Society – if you are able to please go online to  https://thyg.uk/CUS053178 and whatever you are able to give to this very worthy cause will be very gratefully received

Morning Prayer, 23rd December

Christmas is very nearly here, only one more Wednesday Morning Prayer to go!  We meet on Phone Church via Zoom at 11am this Wednesday to see how everyone is doing, to commiserate over plans which may have had to change, but to rejoice over the good things in life like the Eldersfield Nativity Trail.  Please do come and join us if you can, the service is short, the chat can last as long as you like!  Service sheet can be viewed or downloaded here and we look forward to welcoming you.

Eldersfield Nativity Trail

What a fantastic event this was!  We had shepherds with their sheep…..

And Angels singing live!

Wise men and a very wise woman as you can see above, and then, waiting for us in the Church were the Holy Family;

Angela and Joseph kept us sustained with hot dogs, and Bill’s mulled wine was a tonic for body and soul!  Above all, friends and neighbours were able to walk together and talk together safely, and the amazing sum of £575  was raised for Crisis at Christmas.  Huge thanks to Andy and the team for all the hard work which went into organizing it, and to all the folk who participate and came along and supported in spite of the at times inclement weather.  Well done everyone!
